What can BCAT offer to students and volunteers?
BCAT's Volunteer Development Programme (formally ATWG)
Our Volunteer Development Programme is designed to bring together people with an interest in Arts Therapies and Arts in Health, who are willing to offer their time for office based work and/or placements in a variety of organisations within the community. Volunteers on our Volunteer Development Programme can be involved in providing music, art, drama and dance sessions to groups of children and adults within schools, day centres and other community settings.
Our volunteer programme enables those with an interest in delivering community arts to shadow more experienced arts in health facilitators on community placements, that could potentially lead to running your own paid sessions once confident enough to do so. BCAT will support you all the way through scheduled supervision sessions.
The first step is to join us at one of BCAT's monthly Open Evening's on the first Wednesday of each month from 5pm - 7pm.
